2017 Board of Directors

Nancy Somers Nancy Somers currently holds the position of Past-President for the WISE Sudbury chapter. Nancy holds an Honors Diploma, Industrial Electronics Engineering Technology from Cambrian College currently works at Science North as the Senior Manager responsible for the successful operations of the science centre. As part of the Science North team since 1999, Nancy’s main goal is to lead and mentor the team of science staff in creating fun and exciting visitor experiences within the science centre. In this role she is a champion of change. Nancy has developed an exceptional background in leadership and project management and has an ability to inspire others to innovate and embrace new opportunities. Nancy is passionate about electronics and robotics and applies these to Science North’s innovative programs.  Prior to working at Science North, she work in both the mining and manufacturing industries.
Theresa Nyabeze Theresa Nyabeze currently holds the position of President for the WISE Sudbury chapter. Theresa, a graduate from Laurentian University, is a Professional Mining Engineer who works underground as a frontline supervisor. She lives in the capital city of mining of the world, Greater Sudbury, ON, Canada. Theresa’s passions lie in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) careers, as well as encouraging mentoring as a way of promoting her profession and encouraging people to enter and stay working in the mining industry. Outside of work, she can be found at local rinks cheering her kids’ hockey team, hanging out with her nieces and nephews, or courtside at the kids’ basketball games.
Simone Hensher Simone Hensher  currently holds the position of Vice President for the WISE Sudbury chapter. 
me2 Krystal Kant currently holds the position of Treasurer for the WISE Sudbury chapter.  Krystal was born and raised in Newfoundland and holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Earth Science) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Krystal has over 11 years experience working as a professional geophysicist in mineral exploration, within Canada. She is currently a Project Geophysicist with the Vale Canada Exploration group where her focus is on using geophysics to expand on and find new mineralization within the Sudbury Basin. In her spare time Krystal loves to travel and be outdoors, running, hiking and camping all year round.

Geo currently holds the position of Secretary for the WISE Sudbury chapter.  Sheri grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science, and from Acadia University with a Master of Science in Geology.  After graduating, she has had the opportunity to work at Goldcorp as an exploration geologist and is currently employed at Vale as a senior geologist. In her spare time, Sheri enjoys hiking with her two rescue dogs and travelling.
