CIM Sudbury Diversity & Inclusion Panel

“Diversity also means embracing different perspectives and work styles, experiences and skills, lifestyle and cultural background, all of which deserve respect and appreciation.”

This was the message at last night’s CIM Diversity and Inclusion Panel. Industry friends and colleagues were out in full support for the sold out event. Panelists Jennifer Maki (Executive Director, Vale Base Metals), Ron Sarazin (Special Projects Coordinator, Gezhtoojig Employment and Training), and Anna Tudela (VP Diversity, Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Secretary, Goldcorp Inc.) inspired the audience on topics exploring gender, disabilities, immigration, and indigenous peoples inclusion in the mining industry. Moderator Helen Francis (General Manager for Business Effectiveness, Vale) steered the conversation with ease. Congratulations to CIM Sudbury for hosting such a successful event and showcasing the challenges and opportunities of that a diverse workplace can bring.
